Du Plessis Optometrists

"Warm, Friendly and Professional Service"

About Us

We saw a shortage in the market for truly affordable eye care without so-called "Terms and Conditions."  We strive to make every patient feel respected, treated with dignity and to receive optimum visual care. We are well aware that without you as a happy patient, we will have no business!  Our word of mouth referrals in the practice is what sets us apart!

We have a keen interest in Binocular Vision testing and treatment but also look after patients with Keratoconus, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataract progression, Pterygium progressions and all visual related ocular problems.

At our practice we do not try to be second rated ophthalmologists, but rather first rated optometrists. The principle function and purpose of an optometrist is the treatment and correction of visual refractive problems brought on by shortsightedness (Myopia), farsightedness (Hyperopia), Astigmatism and Presbyopia as well as the detection and referral of potential vision threatening conditions like Glaucoma, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Macular Degenaration, Cataracts, Pterygiums to name a few.

We are contracted to all medical aid schemes and charge according to their particular rates. To name a few: Discovery, Discovery Keycare, PPN Provider, Universal Healthcare Provider, Medscheme, Fedhealth, Medihelp, OCSA, Primecure, GEMS, Keyhealth, Bestmed, Transmed, Carecross Health etc.

ADD, Concentration and Focus

As behavioral optometrists, we are also interested in treating a patient holistically and not just necessarily by giving spectacles only, but sometimes a combination of spectacles, therapy and natural health products. We are proud to be a distributor for the Feelgood Health range of products. These are natural remedies used to treat ADD, Focus and concentration problems to name a few. The best selling products are Focus Formula and Bright Spark. These two used in combination is a great alternative to chemical medications like Ritalin, Concerta etc. Please click on the link to find out more.  http://feelgoodhealth.co.za
